Hello everyone,
Great News!
Since our announcement that the QFF would be unable to produce the Medieval Fayre this year we have been approached by many people offering assistance. Thank you all for your concern and offer of help.
Today we have concluded an agreement with United Swords International from the Sunshine Coast who have agreed to produce the Fayre this year - fantastic.
The Fayre will proceed this year on the 5th and 6th of August at Musgrave Park. I think this is a great date because it fits in so well with the Medieval Calendar.
While this is great news for supporters of the Brisbane Medieval Fayre can I urge everyone involved to get in behind the new organisers. The Medieval Fayre over the past few years has not been financially successful. The costs have been greater than the income and the risk that producers take with the weather is great.
It is my opinion that the Medieval Fayre 'business' needs to reduce its costs and increase its income if, in the longer term it is going to survive. The increase in costs of park rental, public liability, safety regulations has been huge in recent years.
We have passed on all information on to the new organisers and I'm sure they will be in touch with you very soon. Their contact information is as follows

The new organisers, Jude,Thomas,Kylee, and Dan are lovely people, experienced organisers (Bli Bli Castle and Gold Coast Medieval Festival) and I'm sure you'll join us in wishing them the best of success.
Thanks again for your support.
Yours sincerely
Bill Hauritz
QFF Executive Director

More information
Demonstrations, jousting, archery, trials, artisans, food and craft stalls, dance workshops, street theatre, music, children’s area, sessions, living history encampments, grand parade and much more.....
Beautiful craft stalls, unique artisans and mouthwatering foodstuffs create the alleyways of the Medieval Marketplace, offering spicy delights, handmade armour and perfume, rare gifts and clothing. Roaming street theatre including jesters, fortune-tellers, Morris Dancers and operatic minstrels entrance children and adults alike on the Village Green and Main Highway.
A full-stocked and beautifully decorated Tavern will cater to the Autumnal chill with spiced wine, honey mead and a selection of fine ales to support your carousal – and as you raise glass– so your spirits will be raised by the musicians and singers who are preparing their tunes to add to the merriment.
As well as the scheduled programme of events, the Brisbane Medieval Fayre offers many opportunities to engage in the part-times of a bygone era. The site features over 30 Living History encampments where you can witness the colour and variety of groups 'on campaign', going about the daily business of life in their times and offering particular activities for public participation.
Members of re-enactment groups may be competing in inter-group events, including: the Bardic Competition, for a capella and accompanied period songs; the Grand Tournament, which includes field events to test endurance, agility and strength; and the Arts and Sciences Competition that demonstrates the variety of intricacy of period handcrafts and artistic pursuits - but there is plenty for members of the general public to take part in!
Young Knights and Maidens can amuse themselves with one of the continuous workshops in the Children’s area, including the chance to create a costume to wear in the evening parade, or visit several encampments for activities aimed specifically at children, including Shoot the Knight, a treasure hunt or making clay runic pendants.
You are welcomed into encampments to witness activities including buttermaking, stone-carving, boat-building, blacksmithing, sparring, music-making, cooking, food preparation, nine-mens-morris, Byzantian chess, dressing of nobles, tablet-weaving, women’s fencing displays, witch trials and arms-training.
Try your hand at dressing a Knight, calligraphy, quill-making or chain-mail creation, develop your knowledge of medieval dance with in-camp workshops or the programmed events in the Great Hall, or visit the Tavern by day to take part in the long-neglected tradition of ‘mollying your cludge’ in the hilarious Cludge-Mollying Competition.
The Brisbane Medieval Fayre truly has something for everyone - and all are welcome
